Don't you guys think there is no spark anymore in IV? Have you heard anything incourging from IV lately? Where is QGC or whatever there name is? Where is money?
Many many times members asked for update once in a while, but what u got , nothing.

Updates:
The updates are provided periodically on forums from IV core. We are currently working on the House side for pushing SKIL forward. There are a few things missing in SKIL bill that we would like to get introduced. Mainly its the 3-year extensions of EAD and AP and 3- year ext of H1 for labor applicants that is missing.
We are also trying to assess of SKIL in house is gonig to go forward, and in the event it doesnt, what other bills can be vehicles for putting our provisions like the S 1932 style.
We try not to restrict free voice and opinion from members on forums however, if it gets downright nasty we will edit posts and censor. But in principle we try to avoid it as much as possible.
If you have questions, and if you think that IV core is not up to the job and needs help or needs to pace up, or if you think you have questions for IV core, please pick up the phone and call the 281 number listed on the website's "Contact Us" and call us. We will answer ALL your questions as to what we are doing.
That would be much more productive way of finding answers to your questions.

sagar_nyc, agreed. EB3 is a joke and even worst I have become a joker in front of all my friends who applied in EB2 cheating the system. Funny is, experience wise, I am well ahead of all those making fun of me but...:-(

With LC substitution Going away and 45 days between LC and I-140 and people able to apply in July for i-485 , with in next 3 months, INS will have a good knowledge how many are pending and how many years it will take .

And the worst thing is they approve it from the date tey approve it to 1 year after..My EAD which was expiring on 2th Sep'2008 was approved until Jun 20th 2009. Basically I got a 9 months extension...What a plan...

Problems will not go away. Such incidents may happen elsewhere or in the same place.
If Air France was genuine they should have made everyone stay in the same place or atleast talk to theie department of immigration and arrange a temporary supervised visa and take all people to the hotel.

My advanced parole is good till October 2, 2009. I have been in and out US 2 times, spent 2 months abroad doing finals in college. Am going to intern abroad, until October 28th.

My wife is currently with Employer A on her 7th year H-1B which is valid till Sep 2009. She also has her approved labor cert and I-140 from this employer, but decided to continue on my I-485 application. The I-140 however is still valid.
She now wants to change jobs to Employer B using H1 visa transfer. I am guessing she will need to include a copy of approved I-140 with her H1B transfer application. But Employer A is not providing us a copy of the I-140 approval.
Can someone please advise what we can do in this situation? Is a copy of I-140 critical in this situation? Or just a copy of online approved status will be sufficient? Any other ideas?

I am amazed in the solidarity just by seeing the responses. But if i think deeper, this rally is not for some national cause or for some greater benefit.
Every single person here is doing this for one's own SELFISH reasons. Why then are we talking like we are marching to save the planet or save the poor animals going to slaughter or human trafficking or AIDS prevention or even the war in Iraq.

Just based on the definition given by DOL I decided Level III and Level IV to be EB2. Besides I am EB2 and my wage level is Level IV. I agree it is hard to conclude the cat based on wage level, I saw there were some Senior welders in Level III as well as Vice presidents of the companies. Quite a contradiction isn't it!!
I think Level indicates the Step within the existing Job Title. For example, a Senior Programmer Analyst could have a level 2 or 3 but an Entry level Project Manager could have a level 1 or 2. I think one would have to use a combination of Level and SOC Code.

Lets just keep the Rep and Dem propaganda lines aside. You and me are non-citizens without a vote so we can afford to be on the sideline and have an impartial opinion. Now with that attitude think about the two contenders. I liked some aspects in both, McCain seemed like a great guy with a great story (POW et al) I liked the way he initially backed CIR even though most of his party men opposed it; I liked the way he started supporting Bush when everyone else in the world is hating him and gave the support for troop increase. But of late his campaign has become sleaziest...all lies. They took one vote of Obama out of context and say that his only contribution to education is sex education in KG. They showed Obama as the reason for increasing gas prices etc. Even I can see how idiotic these claims are and McCain is still supporting them. Then his whole equation with Bush - he is using his connections for fund raising and accepting his support but publicly acts as if he is running against Bush. This whole republican propaganda machine projecting Palin as next best thing in US politics is laughable. She does not have any experience and whatever little experience she has - she seems to have abused it. Well she does look good and seems to have fired up their cadre - that is good enough for them. Of all McCain's shortcomings - his choice of VP is most horrible - its a purely political choice. Nobody is complaining about women voting her (actually none of women's organizations vote her as her extreme right wing opinions) - the problem is republicans wants people to stop thinking about ISSUES and think who is reposible for this state and think about who is better to solve them - they just want people to think about pigs, lipstick, moose, sex, kindergarten, etc and vote enmasse to Palin (note they gave up on McCain already that is why this sensationalism on a VP).
Obama side - yes he is inexperienced (and infact I liked Hillary during primaries) but atleast he is running a very honorable campaign and convention. He is atleast talking about issues. The notion that journalists are light on him so .... over ... and so primary time theme. If there is a Palin like issue on him (say he is involved in firing someone; or exaggerating facts about her opposition to bridge to nowhere; or even about family with a teen-aged pregnant daughter) the press would have been on fire just like when Rev.Wright was an issue. So dont say that press is light on him. About the race - you may not see everything open in our offices but yes his race is a main reason why he is still backward in polls if Obama with same policies and same charisma and same experience level and background is a white guy he would have run away with this election already. Whether we like it or not race is a factor and it works both ways. The thing that I dont like about Obama is the fact that dems are still didnt close this thing - the state of economy, an illogical war, an all-time low popularity of incumbent president who belong to other party - still thing is not closed. I truly think that it would have been different if Hillary is the nominee.
About whether community organization is a reason enough to become president - on the same token we can ask - whether crashing your plane in a war is reason enough to become president. Ofcourse not - both of them have enough strengths to came to this point than being onetime organizer or onetime POW. As someone in the sidelines - I like them to see to run this campaign in a honoroble way and discuss real issues rather than rake up silly/idiotic/dumb/fake issues. Both initially seemed promise in running campaigns in that way but of late McCain/palin went off the line and its slowly becoming a mug-slinging match. In that respect I started liking Obama more.
On immigration related issues - especially EB related issues - I think none of them can make a difference. I think a change of leadership of IV is critical if we have to get anywhere. IV has not been able to achieve a single thing in all of its existence. Not a single thing, nada, zitto, zapata. Not disclosing the issues they are working on, not disclosing how the funds are distributed, not disclosing the lobbyist they are using. Who in the world calls that leadership!
That is the reason that no one wants to contribute. First get some results, show people results for what they have paid for. Then ask for more money. Most people I talk to are confident that IV will achieve nothing given their track record. I tried to convince a colleague to join IV. If I am offending anyone who tries to predict on visa bulleting cut-off days, I am sorry for doing so in advance. The agencies involved in this process themselves are out of clue and it is clearly pointed out by ombudsmen himself. I am still puzzled how they derive the cut-off days every month without such statistics? In the past there were numerous statistics regarding the cut-off date prediction and not even came close to what is getting published. This is one department who defy any logic in determining the cut-off dates. I think it is mere waste of time and energy in trying to do so at our end based on my past experience.

In other words, should a person's application to renew his/her AP document be made prior to the termination of the current one, OR, could this application for renewal be made after the current AP document's validity expires (in this case after July 16, 2009)? Guess many have chosen EB2 as they were eligible by that time .I dont understand why EB3 I is being projected so negatively.
Many have already transferred EB3 to EB2.
2001/2002 may be there are still duplicate open applications which USCIS have to sort out .
Lets hope for the best...But seeing Bharat Premi responses...builds hope.

Very well said IV and I can tell you that you may very well be right when you say that 90% of people trust you guys. I am proud to be supporting an organization like IV and will continue to do so till we get success. It is not easy now and it was not meant to be easy but hey we will get there.
