In Mar 2005, his employer started his green card application; his labor certification is still pending at the Dallas Labor Backlog Center . He is currently looking at another 4-6 years of waiting before he can file his I-485 and probably another 2 years after that to get the green card. I got a email notification from my attorney just now that my I-140 is approved with priority date ported from EB3. Not sure whether I should wait few weeks before initiating interfiling process.

Hi,
I live in colorado...my H1B is going to expire Oct 27...I have not applied for H1B Extn. yet...But i have EAD...According to colorado DMV i should be able to use EAD for driving license extn...but does using EAD invalidates my H1B??...i am planning to apply for my H1B extn this week...but i won't be able to get approval in 3 weeks (assuming i do premium processing)...Please help me.

In the last several months, the worldwide demand for immigrant visas in the EB-2 category has been lower than the State Department expected. To make sure that all available EB-2 immigrant visas are used, DOS has, since April, made some unused worldwide numbers available for China and India and will continue to do so in July. If worldwide demand for these visas increases, however, DOS could impose cut-off dates or declare the China or India EB-2 category unavailable, as it did for India in February 2008, possibly even in the middle of the month

Thanks to everyone who have already sent emails to Ombudsman. We need to do more to get positive results, please go to: http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/sh...ad.php?t=22182 and send those 4 letters.
Others who have not yet acted on this, please go to that thread; download the 4 letters and mail them.
As many people mentioned here and other web sites, the denials are continuing and we need to act now to stop this before it gets even worse.

lack of a good implementation plan and improvement over a number of years is another thing.
We can't just poke around an established government agency because we feel they are not doing their job properly.
What do you (You refers to people who think above, not one in particular) say about the people who filed lawsuit and got the 180 day Name check rule to implementation faster? Not that I am proposing lawsuits, just an example to disprove what you said.
I am trying to figure out what you guys are trying to say. If you guys think that CIS will give you the GC on the day they will feel like and you are cool with it, Why even hopping around boards either for information or anything. Just follow the processing times and see whether number has been called or not. 99% of the crowd thinks here that we can get a better policy by making our voice heard. I'm really hoping they'll catch up and we won't have to wait 4 months. My 6th year H1 is expiring this December and I need to get the I-140 approved so I can get H1 extension.
You dont need a approved 140 for filing H1 extension for 7th year.. Only advantage with approved 140 is you will get 3 yr extension instead of 1.
All you need for H1 extension for 7th year is that a labor cert be filed at starting of 6th year.

Doing state chapters through list servs is just not working out.
I think IV is trying to bring State Chapters also onto the website instead of individual list serves. I do not have any details, maybe pappu or Aman can throw light on this. But nevertheless, we can currently execute things in the way we are doing now.
