we are planning to start an LLC as a group of three here......one of them being in india.i was wondering about the tax issues for a member of an LLC if he is based in India.Can he get an tax identification number.thank you.
Yes you can have international partners in LLC but they also need to pay tax, Unless it is a single member LLC , when you get taxed as individual otherwise you get taxed as a corporations. I think it is better to ask an accountant on how to include the international partner

The way DOS/USCIS behaved last couple weeks anything is possilbe - now its very easy to spin news. If someone comes here and says USCIS will not accept any applications for next two years - many of us might think "logically" and suspect the news - but last week proved that logic and USCIS/DOS dont go together.
Anything is possible with is freaking idiotic dumbass orgnanization. Now I can feel a bit better - at least for next 30 mts. :)

i think dates won't (and should not ) move much. So at the end of year we can see big jump and then may be people like me can file i-1485.

That is not true. Receipt Date is when the service center physically receives the package. They date stamp it and then use it to enter that RD when they generate the Notice on the ND.
What you see on the status page for sure reflects the ND and NOT the RD. So you can pretty much ignore what the status page says and rely on what your physical notice says (it states the actual RD when they physically received the package!)
Hope this is a clear explanation.

July 2nd filers can expect their receipts by Friday(8/10) or Monday(8/13). It will take 3 days for them to just process July 2nd receipts.

I have a question about a unique situation of getting stuck in BEC and applying 485 with a newer PERM case. If LC is stuck in BEC at this time, but the person has a new PERM+140 from a different location and applies 485. Can this person change the priority date of 485 when the old LC from BEC gets approved, and 140 approved, to the BEC PD?

There are several ideas that are generated in the forum. But cannot find out who is leading it. All i am saying is if we can have a listing of initiatives with some names associated. So i can contribute to the ones that i can support.

America does not need to do anything to get more workers. People will keep coming and it will always be a positive flow of good talent into America. The only Indians (and others) who might tell you that they do not want to come to the USA and the American dream is gone, etc., are talking bull and they know it. They will jump on a plane "the next minute" and come if the could. It's the same thing always: Go back Yankeee.................................and take me with you."

Vivek I do not fully agree with you. I do agree that first timers are eager to come to America but once the game gets exposed they will have second thoughts. Why there are no takers for german green card? Or why do people apply for HSMP in more numbers than any other european country. Because atleast on the face of it, that promises a long term path. How many people will want to jump on the plane if America says there will be no green cards, how many people will be attracted to it? America wants to have it both ways, they want people here but do not want to give GCs either.
I graduated from a good college in India. My classmates are divided 50-50 in US and India. The people who are putting up here either did very well and were toppers or failures. All others stayed in India and they will come here only if there is a long term benefit to come here.
