Looks like the USCIS had been busy with the citizenship applications before the Nov elections and hence it has been slow approving I-140's and GC's. Now that it is coming to an end we might see our applications moving forward. Maybe from Nov onwards it would be better.

So you are looking for motivation? Your post do not indicate that you are looking for motivation. There are those who are undecided or who cannot find enough energy/motivation to do something, and those people need motivation. You don't fall in that category. I have no problems working for millionaires and billionaires but because of government apathy most of the big corporations are scared of hiring people on H1B ( to be specific on their own h1b) When I went to school in Kentucky which is not very industrialized state we had Toyota, Lexmark as top companies in our area but both did not want to sponsor H1B. The only way you can work with them is by joining some small time consulting firm and working as contractor. Else these guys just outsource their development to TCS/ Wipro folks. So the billionaire business man gets hsi work done from offshore place and qualified people start to move to IT jobs and code in java or dotnet.
And then you lose your libido :). Agreed�. With the delay you lose the golden period in your career and end up at a lower level. Most of the self made millionaires rockstarted young when they had the drive and desire. I still say America gains more than what they lose by delaying GC process. If they hand out GCs faster then who will work for those millionaires and billionaires?.

My employer is a big wall street investment bank, and they have filed my PERM on May 14th.
The trend for PERM certification at Atlanta, as per my employer is between 90-120 days. Because they handled so many PERM cases at Atlanta, they know this trend.
Nothing muck we can do here. Just pray and hope for the best.

I wish you have PD of 2001/2002. I had the same dream when I came here 8 years ago.
If you are new to US(1-3 years, from the spark in your statements, I feel you are.) with having PD 2003 or later, only the SKIL bill or CIR could rescue you. Othewise, you will be one among 1million in 2011 talking like us.
Its very interesting reading everyone's stories. To me GC represents freedom. Freedom to work for whom you want to, in a field you want to, not to work for someone you don't want to. To start your own buisness, to do all those things which US is known for. This country encourages entrepreneurs and I would like to be one, one of these days :).

It is really tricky to come up with a deadline for EB employment. US is set of laws and the law is same for every one it applies. for example:If you not from a retrogressed country you will get your GC even if you start now (before enactment of this bill).
Please know the difference between bill and law. If ever this particular bill becomes law the deadline for any cases filed under previous law will not be rejected, this is as clear as mud, to make the law same for all who applied/pending /approved on the day of enactment!!.:eek:

jsut follweod up with my lawyer and Iwas told that my old company doesnot usaully revoke 140's unless the person left the company b4 the setforth dates as part of GC agreement (4yrs or b4 getting gc ) or the person discharged for some other reason...

Hi Friends, I went to DMV PA (Bridgevile) to renew my drivers license recently. They are not accepting original EAD/ AP, copy of 485 receipt plus employer letter. They are asking for original 485 receipt. Unfortunately my ex-employer did not give the original receipt.
Did any body renew the PA DL without original 485 receipt?

Well said. On top of all this, there is a huge social pressure on NRIs from Indian parents/relatives to buy a property in India. It goes like this, if Hari, Babu and Kanwal all have it, why don't you buy something in Delhi as well. Now builders have started talking in terms of crores. You call them and ask the price, they would say "point six", means zero point six crores (for 1200 sq ft 2 BHK). There is no way on this earth someone should pay that much for 1200 sq ft in Noida/Delhi/Anywhere in India.
My advise, let people, relatives say what they want to say. This market is bound to come down. Just wait and see. Thank you.

However, one can not ignore the advise of having property/house in home country, for many other reasons. But the price should be reasonable/cost worthy.
