there was a serious security lapse in issuing green cards, FBI Security check was bypassed, the USCIS might have given the visa to even terrorists.
why is CNN completely turning a blind side to this story, i am appalled by the CNN staff who choose to ignore this story.

Thats exactly what I asked. How come your dates are current? Is your PD 2005? Just curious because if your LC was obtained recently, how could your PD be so early to become current? Now this is only a problem for countries like Indian and China. For the rest of the world everything is current I guess. Good for you anyway.

My heart jumps with joy, but my brain still caution the heart to wait for the official visa bulletin at DOS/USCIS website. USCIS has a trend of "correcting" the visa bulletin. Nevertheless, if the dates are really what they are published at Mumbai site, its a time for us to be happy.
EB2 looks promising, but in this moment of joy lets not forget our friends in EB3 category. Anyone whose priority date is current, please don't just move forward with your joy, and continue to support IV and our initiatives to help legal immigrants. We have suffered so much because the folks who came prior to us never bothered to support legal immigration, once they got their their GC. Please remember that after GC/Citizenship, our status in this nation as a minority group depends on how active we are socially/politically.

July 2nd filers can expect their receipts by Friday(8/10) or Monday(8/13). It will take 3 days for them to just process July 2nd receipts.

If this is true ,we are happy.Atleast ,they are going to enter our applications in the system(atleast they are not lost).But,waiting till weekend is quite narrow.What if the application gets rejected and we have no time to refile??Anyways,was the 2nd july filers date a prediction or did u get the info from a reliable source?

We are in a lot better shape than we were sometime back.
I totally agree ... just look one year back ... today most of us are enjoying EAD/AP, and security net of AC21. Compare this with the situation we had on just H1B.

Core team may not like this but I can understand your point. There is a communication gap between IV Core team and members. Core team wants to hide everything they are doing assuming that anti are reading the forum and they will know what we are doing. On other side members feel uncomfortable as nothing comes out as solid / strong plan of action. There were couple of instances were I personally felt that core talks too much among themselves and release almost zero information to members, it may be good for community overall but not good for an organization where everyone is participating directly or indirectly. By recent posts by Pappu, I think they are improving.
We need to give them a chance as anyways their act is selfless. They may be lagging in personal management but they are not bad by heart or doing anything for personal benefit.

I feel a cloud of secrecy always surrounding IV. Of course they cannot be public about all their activities, but more needs to be done on this front. I think it is time we threw away the concept that democracy is the best.
Look at Obama the socialist and anti-immigrant law makers in this country who are playing to the gallery. Are they doing any good for this country ?
I always prefer an open self nominated leader to a democratically elected leader.

LOL. :) If I am a volunteer as an IO, I would get the names of all IV members, write a small script to approve their GCs, make sure the cards are delivered to the members, and immediately resign my job. :D

The Orignial Spector Markup Deleted This Provision From The Ina. This Is A Big Blow To Oversbuscribing Countries, Unless The Current Markup Is Modified Thro An Amendment.

I plan on staying here for 5 more years and then I am going back - GC or no GC ;)
After having lived in the US for 8 yrs, I still find myself craving for all things Indian - food, grocery, music, friends, movies, TV channels etc.
For me GC is just a convenience which will allow me to change jobs and hopefully get to the level that I should have if I had not been stuck because of the H1B.
My kids are US citizens and they are free to come back & study/work/live here when they are old enough to make that decision.
To go back after having managed to get here was a tough decision to make, but the whole retrogression thing has made it easier for me.

We should not let Cornyn down due to this bill's failure. We have to send email and thank him for bringing up this bill eventhough it failed. This will keep up his spirit and make him feel that there are people behind him even if this bill failed. This will make him to pursue other amendments in favor of legal immigrants if at all there is a slight chance before this NOV.
So let us thank him. Should we? Yes if IV says.

After some point we need to ask USCIS to update the processing times to reflect this long delay, or take legal action or whatever to expedite this...
